Jack Meyer, Ph.D.
Associate
Dr. Meyer is a nationally recognized and widely published public policy expert on health insurance access and finance, healthcare regulation, and pharmaceutical issues. He has conducted policy analysis and directed research on frontline issues in healthcare reform and social policy for twenty years. Areas of research and policy analysis include evaluation of policy reforms to broaden health coverage, Medicaid cost management, evaluation of innovative health purchasing strategies developed by coalitions of private employers, assessments of managed care, and healthcare quality improvement initiatives. He has authored several books, articles and reports on a wide variety of health policy issues.
Dr. Meyer has conducted policy analysis and directed research on healthcare access issues for several major foundations as well as federal and state government. He has led projects on state and community-wide reforms to expand health insurance coverage to the uninsured and to overcome barriers to healthcare access. Dr. Meyer has also directed recent studies on the viability of safety net providers, Medicaid managed care for persons with disabilities, the State Children's Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP) to extend coverage to lower-income children, the conversion of public hospitals to private status, and assessment of federal government efforts to reduce healthcare fraud.
Dr. Meyer holds a M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Ohio State University.
